There is a birthday boy in the house today,

so we are heading out for a picnic

and the movies

as requested by my now 12 year old.

Happy Birthday Freddie.

(all pictures shamelessly swiped from Mary Ruffle as we head out the door........)

Pink in bloom.

I love mixing textures - silk, velvet, crewels you get the picture.

It is always important to throw a stripe in the mix somewhere and some evidence of your travels,

and never, ever forget the flowers, as many as you can squeeze in.
Either way, this rooms looks stunning with it's emphasis on pink and aqua and those amazing blooms.

My day - Park Avenue Style.

I rush home and can't wait to sit here
and sit under this beautiful carnation artwork and sip wine.

I get up and  prepare a light supper in here
and go and 'freshen' myself up in here.
The children are playing silently in here,
and studying the map and searching for our next holiday destination.

Hubby comes home and drops his keys here,
and we catch up on the days events in here,
before retiring for another busy day ahead.
All pics of 'my home' from here.

Monday Randomness.

After reading Anna's post on pinwheel inspired patterns last week, I came across this when searching for fabric for a customer. It is somewhat similar in design and equally as fun,

Don't you think? I can't wait to use it somewhere.
And did you see Lulu's new print, 'Colours'?

Week two of the school holidays are here and yesterday we managed a bit of beaching......

as the chill is finally leaving the air.
Can anyone tell me why my profile says I have had less than 2000 visits on my blog when my tracking program tells me I have had 15,000 in a month? See, told you it was random thoughts.

inserted this piccy cos its cute.......

Also, does anyone else have comments, supposedly by individuals, on their blog and then when they are published they are a direct link to a flooring manufacturer, bedding company, roller blinds and the like? Isn't this just a little bit sneaky?? Kinda like advertising by default?

Am loving this Loom rug which I am planning a room around for a lovely client.

If you haven't already perused their rugs, you must, they are sublime.

I am slowing getting my head around my new iphone, having switched from the non iphone variety.
I have just received my freebie cover in the post, but of course I would really like one of these....

Yes, a little Jonathon Adler is always a good thing, not to mention soooo easy to see in the bottom of  my handbag.

Click on over to Lonny

(loving this pic. too.........)

to try your luck at winning a prize as they countdown to their first birthday anniversary issue. I'll see you there..............

Phew, have a good one.........KG x

Peacock Blue.

I love this image found over at Moth Design. I probably don't need to go into too much detail here but shall I just say, "colour - swoonworthy, wingback - essential, tufting - luxurious, gold coffee cup? WHOA!!"
Happy weekend!

Just when I  thought I had become accustomed to the beauty and vibrancy of Carnival, I come acrosss this image that has sent me into a tail spin all over again. Don't get too excited though peeps, it's not available in wallpaper just yet, but we can always live in hope! In the meantime, Christopher, your talents are Farr superior.
ps...thanks Lucina for the pic!

Hope all my fellow bloggers in the good ol' US of A had a really awful  fantastic day with Nate. I am really happy for those of you who went, really I am. ( insert subtext here: I am totally jealous, why is life so unfair.......)

I love it when.........

I go and pick cushions up from the workroom,

and they are so darn delicious.....

that I could eat them!

Well, maybe not exactly eat them....

but you know what I mean......

Shower Love.

Two super cute bathrooms and two shower curtains to guarantee you won''t mind lingering there a little longer...................Pretty fabric can give a bathroom a whole lotta personality, wouldn't you agree?

Ahoy there!

I'm not sure if you would say this belonged in a ship and it is certainly not a galley, but the nautical details in this photo add to the pure charm of this small kitchen. It must be because I am by the sea atm that I am drawn to this! To me it seems the perfect solution for holiday living - it has everything you need. And what about those chops and sausages you ask? That's what the BBQ is for!
Off to the beach with the first mate!

A Tiny Bird told me........

to go to Tiny Bird,

and since I'm holidaying in Noosa, I thought I'd drop in. So I will issue you with my usual warning - if you don't want beautiful and flowing silk dresses....
fun silver and gold shoppers,
floaty chinese lanterns,
pretty prints to brighten up a little girls room,

and cotton dyed tunics for that little person in your life......
then stay away.

Of course they have lots of other goodies too, like jewels and shoes. Just as well I didn't heed my own advice! Cough cough....I love a little retail therapy on hols, don't you?

And in other news.........

yes sireeeeee!

In 20 words or less........

......write why this picture appeals to you.
"Black painted weatherboards, white windows, aged decking, lavender, rosemary, olives,, love, love, love, love, love, love and love!"

The good thing about holidays......

is that we get to eat food like this every day.

It also means we can indulge in a few of these too.

I also get to wear  beautiful tunics and kaftans, my favourite type of holiday attire.

I am lucky enough to own some from from the lovely (above) Kayce Hughes.
She has an amazing range of tops, bottoms, dresses and childrens wear.
You can also read her blog.
Did I mention she has 7 children?

Go and have a look here ......

In the meantime, I 'll be here.

Off to breakfast by the beach.
