As I keep seeing pumpkins everywhere.....

I thought I would keep in the spirit of things,
and get with the program.

I know these are not pumpkins, but the colour is good! Yes?
We are off to the races this week end.

I don't think it will be very warm......

In fact, according to the forecast we will be needing these.

I think I'd rather be staying here.

Happy week end!

Focus woman, Focus!

One little thing like a garden fair and my life is out of whack. I am still sorting things out and recovering from a 4.30 am start this morning. (don't ask....) Anyway, time to focus and get back into whack.
So, just to say there is nothing like a good quality, colourful beach towel to brighten up your life.
These ones are pure heaven, and notice the beach house in the back? Not bad either!
If you haven't already, go and visit Lulu and see her very own slice of paradise. This woman oozes stlye and chic with her enviable talent and lifestyle.
And on the subject of beach houses.......

This scene is serene yet packs a punch in the coastal style stakes. You know I am a sucker for painted brick and
anything remotely beach housey, and this rooms seems to mix all the very best elements together. Now lets see................bird prints, a vintage yatch, the softest of baby blue, paisley, coral, animal print, renewed cane furniture, hydrangeas and to top it all a pop of orange. Yep, this room just about has it all.

Garden fair.

Thank you to everyone who asked how the fair went.......so sorry I don't have any pics of the garden! (was busy in the beautiful old stables all day and not much time for rambling in the glorious garden!) the day was a huge success for all. Here are some pics...
My favourite French Navy stationery - a winner! (especially the sausage dog notes and Christmas tags) sorry - the 'C' word again!
Soft leather gardening gloves - well it was a garden fair!
We also sold stacks of these geomatric placemats and what's a stall without a candle..
or a chopping board? And then there were all the cushions.
And the most important people? The sales staff.......fresh from the fairy garden .

Shoe candy.

Well, sort of. Shoe candy / eye candy whatever you want to call it. Either way, imagine owning all those rainbow coloured shoes!

Thanks AP for showcasing this super cute apartment. Me?
Plum tuckered out and its only Monday........eeek.
Ps can't belive I have just typed 'shoes' into my labels heading.....isn't this a blog about homes and interiors? Have quickly amended it to 'storage' - there, that's better!

When I was visiting suppliers this week.......

look who was manning the counter.
Also, I think this mismatched curtain idea is something I'd like to try,

especially with lovely billowing fabric.
I have decided on the rug purchase....I think.
Good ol' navy and white stripe. The best bit is its size 2.4 x 3m.
Happy week end!
Nautical but nice - don't you think?

Crafting.

Another busy week gone and more rambling from me. Firstly sorry for the lack of posting yesterday. I have been a busy girl.

Anyone who reads this blog knows I am more of an ideas girl - crafty I am not, so it will surprise you to know that I have been making things, sticky fingers and all.

It's all in the name of a good cause.

So if you are interested in how to use up left over fabric ( a thousand ways...), would like a very pleasant day out, and live in Victoria, then come here.

This Sunday.
There will be lots to see and do.

Hide and seek.

When I was out and about yesterday visting suppliers and just generally making merry I spotted something in a most unlikely place.

They weren't of the zebra variety......

or the 'spotty' cow type, but more the Hereford red.

They even come as  cushions.....

which would certainly add a certain texture to your sofa.
All in all, a win win situation......that's if you have the hide.
ps  have a look at  recent Sal's purchase in ebay, and if your're not the ebay type you know where to come! (here of course)

Taking shape.

It is always exciting seeing seeing a room come together for a client, and especially so when they are delightful to work with. Here's a peak of one of the chairs in her daughter's bedroom ...........I love the way the yellow has turned out and it is such a feature! Stay tuned for more later!
And thank you for all your understanding yesterday when I had a compluter glitch. Turns out all it was ...was.....errr...ummmm.....exceeding our wi fi limit due to two new iphones 'in the house'. How embarressment.

On my hit list.

This man. I know someone who would really love this for Christmas...or just for anyday.

This black chinoiserier wallapaper - guaranteed to give a room a touch of drama.

This rug........

and this rug.
(which do you prefer....?)
And I am not one to boast but.........I am feeling pretty smug with myself atm.
I have ordered 6 of these for the teachers at school for Christmas.

Personalized note pads - a great idea and soooo much better than a mug or box of choccies at the last minute. Go here and visit Vari's Etsy shop and sample the rest of her wares. (although none of you at the same school as me......he he......!!)
It is so painless and she is a delight to deal with. Now, only 999 to go.........
Enjoy your Friday!
Oh yes - and I am off to vote for Lonny's dollhouse as my fave. - do it here.
Good luck Michelle! xox

Bathroom Bliss.

I was with a client this week discussing her new home. She is building and wants  "colour, colour, colour",  and having grown up with a mission brown house she is ready to lash out. Well, she has the right person on the job! ( cue -  evil laugh....) She wants a blue kitchen, and heck......now I really, really want a blue bathroom. ( with out of this world wallpaper of course.)
Oh, and if the pattern looks vaguely familiar to you, it might be because you have one (or several in my case) of these.

See? That's where you have seen it before.
Am off to plan my new bathroom.

H.O.T.Y.

Here are my two favourite pics. from Country Living's House of the Year or H.O.T.Y as it so cleverly abbreviates down to!
Vintage wallpaper in the W.I.R. and a parasol as a light fitting.....
(am coveting that blue dress too....)
But what about this stairwell?  - pure perfection.
Pages from a book if you don't mind......insanlely simple!

Another one....

for the beach house file. It is growing out of control. Only problem is I need two beach houses - one thats all Hamptons - ish and Ralph Laureny and the other thats full of lovely clever finds like this giant cable spool. And to use it as a coffee table? Pure genius.
See the rest of Lila and toms house over at Design Sponge.

Summer.......

and Buddy.
Yes, that's right...Summer and Buddy. If you, like me have children falling betweeen the cracks size wise for fashion then this is your answer. If they have grown or are growing out of all the usuals suspects
when it comes to buying clothes..look no further.
Stylish, classic, slighly fashion foward but not faddy.
(and no slogans......not quite sure where to find a windcheater without a hood yet for my 12yo.....any suggs...?!!!! )

Goodness.

Ok, ok we have all said it before but THIS Lonnny 1st anniversary issue really IS....the bomb.
More stories, more pics. and just more, more more GOODNESS.
( and hardly a bar car in sight.........!)

Musings from a busy week.

A few exciting things have happened this week.......

Australia has its very own online magazine! Yes, Adore  has hit the airwaves and its time to get reading.
You can read all about Louise's gorgeous home, see what inspires Julie in her office and generally emerse yourself in lots of love.

My other favourite and trailblazing mag. Lonny, now has a blog too so subcribe and read and you will find out about things like this......

Yes this is mini sized luxury - think dolls and barbies here.

That's Michelle behind those boxes with everthing to pretty up that cardboard house!
These bright and witty notebooks ended up in my inbox this week from the clever people at Telegram.
They would be fun in everyone's stockings at Christmas.....
Sorry to mention the 'C' word but it has to be done. I am already busy schemeing away and plotting to spend online since the dollar is about to hit parity.
I have finished several 'design online' concepts boards for clients this week.....here's one I did a while ago.

It's full of goodness......velvet, silk, and a touch of zebra!
Also, I have been an avid follower of Eddie Ross since way back when and am continually inspried by his talents. The things he and Jaithan can do........!! He can take a sow's ear and turn it into a silk purse, well you know what I mean. Have a looksie and see what he is about to do with all those pumpkins...

Did you notice Eddie's blue shirt? He is always a snappy dresser.
It transpires that E + J are now reading my blog and regularly comment.........exciting stuff! (wave)
Enough waffle - happy weekend to all and to all a ......happy week end! KG
