A long week end.

Yep - another one. Children are off school tomorrow and we are planning a little shopping trip together. High on the list is the glue gun and lots of pretty paper.............oh yes, and a replacement Ipod, because despite all the the resuss. they do not seem to recover from a washing machine incident.
It's the Queen's birthday on Monday.........

therefore no better time to show you a bit of regal wallpaper. I think it's another one perfectly suited to a powder room, don't you!
If you haven't already, you should print out this nifty 'date book' from Matchbook to help you keep track of all your appointments for June.........

although in my case I will be using it to while away all those horrid, cold, wet and windy days.
And just because I always love something pretty.

I can't stop looking at this Kate Spade photo, it is pure heaven, right down to the unstyled bookcase and the mishmash of cushions. The skirt of course, is the hero, but that necklace runs a very close second!
BTW, have you noticed how fashion in the USA is very waist conscious? Sounds  a silly thing to say but alot of their skirts and dress seem to accentuate the waist.
It's a good look, must try that sometime when I have mine back!

I love the look of a real used bookcase - one that somebody obviously pulls books from for reference or to curl up and read, rather than perfectly styled books mostly bought for the colour of the cover.

I adore that skirt and have to say that almost everything I own accentuates the waist - I think it's very flattering for almost everybody. Makes me feel a bit 50s housewife (without the house or wife bit)!

The bookcase is a delight and very enticing. Sitting there with a colonial window to look out through, chandelier overhead and that cute reading light give this abode a whimsical feel. Love the old typewriter too.

Fun wallpaper, I agree it would look great in a powder room. Loving that skirt too!

Yes I agree with Anna's comment: yay to a bookshelf that actually looks like one, instead of a colour-styled one.

Have a lovely long weekend! Yipee!

I have admired that Kate Spade picture as well - for all the same reasons. My waist hasn't been quite the same since I had my twins...but I've been able to work that look lately. Very flattering.
