Branching out.

It seems a natural progression when you are interior designer to launch into your own line of fabrics and wallpapers. I know what it's like, you know EXACTLY what you want but you can't find it anywhere. But don't worry, I am not about to launch into this business anytime soon as I have enough on my little plate, so thankfully for me and everyone else in the trade, Meg Braff has. 

Words may be superfluous here, so I'll let some of her designs do all the chatting..........

Retail therapy for a Friday.

What do you think interior designers do when they want a change of direction? (not a trick question or a joke.......) Well, they take to designer something else of course! 

  

Handbags....in gorgeous colours and preppy patterns. 

Ellen Allen ( a great name BTW!) has seriously done all us girls who love to accesssorise, a favour by giving up her career.....I mean that in the nicest possible way too!   

Now lets see, what will I choose....

and then again I could purchase a tie for the other half.

And on to retail therapy of a different kind. Remember the chairs I bought a couple of weeks ago?

and even more perfect in the flesh. (or should that be in the 'velvet')

Two for one.

I have just taken delivery of two more beds this morning. Yes, as fast as I tidy up and move things out of the house, things are coming back in. 

My daughter has moved rooms. All she wanted was to have two bed in her room so she could have a freind to stay. Simple request really, so we ordered a king single with a trundle underneath. Every time someone came it was a major exercise to re-arrange the furniture and get the trundle out. (oh and it looked messy too.......!)

So now she has moved rooms and has two single beds and will be entertaining shortly, no doubt.

Now I am left with the dilema (ok so it's not that bad....) of finding matching duvet covers, valances and the like.

I have ordered her two of these.......

which will benefit from a bit of trim. 

She has told me blues and greens are the go, so watch this space.  

Tailored.

I love this simple tailored look. The velvet bedheads are a touch of pure luxury.......

It is such a classic combo - taupe and blue. 

In the meantime with all this beautiful order, my desk looks more like this......

Soup and a Sale.

I know I said I wouldn't be back until Monday but here I am! I have been listing stuff (cushions and fabrics) on Ebay like a mad woman and thought I had better let you know! 

Yes, I am having a major clearout. I know I did this not so long ago but I am such a sucker for pretty fabrics that I can't resist! The long and the short of it is it all has to go somewhere and I have promised myself I wouldn't hoard! I have allowed several cupboards for extra bit and pieces and when those are full.....well..... you benefit! 

On the same subject, you know how change is as good as a holiday? 

I am moving a few things around at home and am sellling these..........

   all 10 of them.

But wait - there's more. 

I have never really had the right spot for this chinese inspired desk

and it's matching chair.

Have I told you about this member of our family before? She is amazing and I don't know what I did before she joined us.  More stories about my Thermomix another time.....back to my sorting frenzy!

A nook and other stuff.

Well, this took my fancy as a good place to just hang out, sleep or read. How cute is this space?

 There is something about this room that makes me squeal with delight! 

 Pink sofa, black dog, black dress, black fireplace, white walls........glorious in it's simplicity. Are we in agreeance here? I think the sofa is the hero - I mean who wouldn't want something so pink and plump to sink into? NOT ME!

And a personalized iphone cover? No more digging around in the bottom of your handbag in the dark. These are in my humble opinion are super stylish and the monnogram pretty much seals the deal for me.

You must check out Letter love Design's amazing...well....designs and personalised stationery. 

You know how I love good paper, and sending, receiving and writing a note is always high on my 'do to' list (you see...I even need paper to write one of these.....!) 

I urge you most strongly to invest in a few of these notes. I mean anything combining gorgeous patterns, monograms and a bit of chinoiserie has to be a hit! 

I mean just look at these envelope liners........

and pagoda address labels? 

Yes please! 

OK, are you ready for the best part? This clever lady is from Australia! I know!

But the icing on the cake? 

Adelaide. 

I know I am biased.

Must be something about good ol' A'dlaide, as French Navy, my go to for beautiful crisp white thank you notes also hails from there.

Monday Confession.

I had to have a couple of days off this week as I was still not feeling so good and as a consequence,

I feel like I am in freefall.

Too many things left undone, and not enough hours in the day. 

Spying this aaaaamazing house over at An Apple a Day... has soothed me infinitely. 

I love orange in a bedrooom. (make that any room) and have long gotten over the fact that shades of orange were my house colours at school. 

And take this......

.......another bedroom in the very same house, just oozing chic - ness and individuality. 

Can you take any more goodness? 

I thought so. 

 A dining nook with what I think are framed magazine pages? Pure genius. 

And just becouase I know you can never have too much of a good thing......

Fluoro.

I am kinda, sorta really liking this fluoro pineapple print cushion by Dark dog Studio. 

Maybe its because I have a love for all things pineapple.  And palm trees. 

I could swan around in my new Kate Spade fluoro flats.......

I might even put my glamorous feet on this Abigail Aherne fluoro pink coffee table, 'cos I just couldn't resist. 

But for now? I am going to turn the whole  #@%F*#$i computer system off and reboot everything as it is all sooooooo slow it is driving me mad....literally. I have actually made a cake whilst writing this post waiting for everything to load. Yes. Its that bad. (although I am a very quick cake maker.......!)
