A few important things.

Well, life with a new baby in the house definately changes things! I have had to power up my organisational skills and make sure I am super effective when she is sleeping. Luckily for me, that seems to be all morning. So in between putting together beautiful (a little self belief never goes astray!) room schemes, ordering fabrics, trims and accessories for my clients, I am also doing this........

Yes. I am trying to work through all my thank you notes to people who have sent such generous gifts when our baby was born. (they are still arriving thick and fast so I may be writing for a while yet....!) 

Anyway, not that it's a chore, but the job is definately made more pleasant with such fabulous personalised stationery.   

 Here's my little tray set up on the kitchen table so I can write one or two whenever I have a minute.

The chevron pattern is fun and the lined envelopes are a nice surprise for the recipient. Get your version or similar over at Letter Love Designs! and tell Susannah I sent you! 

I am also spending ALOT of time (as previously mentioned) in my feeding chair. I do have a pleasant view however and can see both these potted trees through the window.....

  

A pleasant reminder that spring is well........springing! 

On another note one of my fave furniture suppliers is doing a bit of fashion this season.  

I will be ordering myself one of these for summer......

.........at listing ANYTHING you don't like about this serene bedroom! I can't possibly imagine you will find a thing. Well, I suppose if you don't like blue you could have a point but otherwise this is pure delight........just lucky for me that blue is always at the top of the list.

Hot on the heels......

........of yesterdays bathroom post, here is another one in the same house which I forgot to show you but has the same 'wow' factor. 

See - told you this bathroom was good. I especially love the arch housing the bath. As one who loves their daily bath there would be nothing nicer than climbing in here and wallowing. 

I also received a note from Deirdre asking me to stop distracting her from report writing with all the pics I put up.....I will try to oblige but can't promise anything.....sorry! (he, he!)

In the meantime though, my advice to you is proceed with caution, 'cos the pics will just keep on coming! : )  

A bit of bathroom decadence.

In fact, not a bit of bathroom decadence but a whole lot of it!

Who wouldn't want an oil painting in the bathroom in a heavily gilded frame when it looks like this? And shall we talk about those tiles.....I am mad for them. I have always loved white floor and wall tiles for the bathroom but these take the biscuit don't they. They may or may not be original, but either way they have shed a whole lot of light on the tile debate for me.

For baby...and me.

My baby is not even 3 weeks old and I feel as though I have spent hours staring at various angles in the nursery. That's most likely because I have......! You know what it's like......feeding a tiny baby you get lots of sitting down and staring into space time (especially indulgent when there are no toddlers in the house too! ). My thoughts are filled with things like "should I move that book a tiny bit to the left" or "maybe I should put the cot over next to the wardrobe and put the chair on THAT side of the room instead".  I have desided one thing though, and that is I do need some hooks to hang various items of clothing too cute to be folded away in the cupboard. But that's another story. I just really wanted to show you this photo I came across a while ago of a nursery. Now imagine feeding your little one and staring at that 6 times a day! You truly would never need a holiday!  A bit of fun? You bet......oh and no better incentive needed to push ahead with the post baby fitness regime than to get back to sashaying around the pool in a short white kaftan!  

A red door.....

You know the drill - an entrance way is always importance when it come to first impressions....blaad - de - blaad - de blah! Well,  this picture represents how truly simple it is to achieve, don't you think! The red door (you know how I LOVE a coloured door......) is sublime and the additions of a simple hall table, a cleverly grouped set of frames and a classic cotton reel hat stand make sure that this first impression hits you with a bang. Now that's a door I would want to come in again and again...........

The very clever and talented Bec kniited this to put on our baby's little head. i wish you could see it in person.....it is sooooo adorable! The perfect selection of pinks and soft reds, with a teeny tiny frilly bit at the bottom and pom poms on top! Mmmmmm, maybe I don't want the days to warm up just quite yet. Not until this prefect hat has had at least a couple of outings.......

Greenery.

I have a thing for botanicals in frames, and sometimes it can be hard finding just the right piece for that perfect spot.  

And then I saw these....

Bigger is always better, and these are so simple in their greeness. I love the way they flank the doorway and make such a statement that everything else can be muted and understated. I need a pair like this for my very own house..........doesn't everyone? 

Back to the grindstone.

Thank you for all the lovely comments and congratulations I have received on the arrival of our new little pink bundle. It is so strange having a new baby in the house again after all this time, but pure bliss all the same. I must say I now have the luxury of bigger children to lend a hand when needed and no toddlers to tend to so that definately makes life easier - and so does a baby who sleeps and feeds pretty much like clockwork! Lucky - I know!  

So, I am not quite sure what to show you today............

should it be the perfect Spring day we had yesterday?

  

or the contents of my fridge.......

(please excuse the finger marks!) which include yummy things like chicken pies and casseroles very kind friends have dropped in.

My flowers from the florist and the garden are still brightening up the house....

and we are still steadily working through all the cards and beautiful gifts we have recieved. (thank you notes are on the way shortly.......!)

Anyway, as much as I would love to sit around gazing into the eyes of my little lady its back to work today! I have a sickie at home too, and need to keep the big one and the baby at opposite ends of the house......no mean feat when he is completely head over heels with his new sister. Wish me luck and thank you again for all your good wishes!   

Thought I 'd better let you know.....

...that we have added a baby girl

 to our family! 

Usual transmission will resume when we are all back safely home.

A nice kitchen.

There's so much going on in the blogging world atm, so please forgive me if I don't get around to mentioning any of it at all. Instead, I will entertain you with what I would call 'a nice kitchen' OK - I would go as far as to describe it as a very very sytlish kitchen. I love a good kitchen, especially if it isn't over done, over styled, over cupboarded (is there such a word?)  and over European applianced. Does that make sense?  This is just how I like'em.

A few tiles, (subway please), a bit of stainless, some black somewhere, white too and well....just some thought to a practical space, goes a long way. I think India Hicks has nailed this one - don't you? (I found this on one of my daily reads......My Notting Hill , go and have a look at the rest of the house, which btw, you can now rent)

.........for the lack of posts and for being so slack. I have been back and forth waiting for my own impending arrival, and far too distracted to blog! Thank heavens I now now have some lovely online reading to get stuck into with the latest edition of ADORE magazine hitting our airwaves. I am about to settle in to a luxuriously long read  and suggest you do too!

I spy this chair again from Fenton and Fenton, and to say that I am in love with this cushion is ....well an understatement. 

  

There are some great recipes and also an article on a couple of kitchens - one black and one white. I am am a sucker for black kitchens as I have one myself.....

and speaking of oneself you can see a bit more about my online faves here too....
