I don't know about you but I have attended many seminars at Designex, some good, some not so! Some stand outs incude Kathryn Ireland, Anna Spiro, Michelle Adams and the divine William Yeowood. 

I could barely contain my excitement when I heard that Martyn Lawrence - Bullard is stepping out next Feb at D&D in Sydney. Yippee......that's def. one ticket I don't want to miss out on! I mean look at his work......

Irresistable! His style is full of colour, texture and bold patterns......bliss!

Oh, and a touch of glamour too.

A little help please!

I am a bit stumped. One of my customers sent me this image to consider for her powder room. I love it but can't find out who does this wallpaper. I have used all my supersleuth skills (well, I have had a quick look but no luck.....) so was wondering if any one out there would be kind enough to give me the heads up!

Your assistance would be most appreciated!

Swedish sensation!

Sorry I have been absent - don't know where the time goes! I am trying to finish up and few jobs as well as working on new ones so I suppose that's part of the excuse! I was looking for wardrobe inspiration for a client and found this great pic below. 

It must be noted that this wardrobe owner and I have similar taste in clothing. Loving that dress and anyone with more than one stripy t in their closet is my kind gal! Well done Mrs. Ikea. Yep - the Swedes strike again! It is a room divider come wardrobe - exactly what I was trying to nut out for my client, only now I don't have to 'cos someone has already done it waaay better than me.

Paint and cakes.

Loving the corner of this cosy room.  

An old trick, but a goodie. Painting the walls and shelving the same to achieve a truly sophisticated room. Oh, and when your done, why not add a matching piece of furniture? 

I went to school yesterday to help cook cakes for a music day being held today. So whilst I was beavering away, creaming brown sugar when it was meant to be the white one, and adding hazlenut meal when the recipe called for almond, (arghhh...you think I could read a recipe properly by now!) I turned around to see what everyone else was up to and saw this....... 

and this.  

Yes. Needless to say I won't be sharing my creations with you!

Ok everyone it is that time of year.......and if there is one hot tip I can give you, it is to start shopping early for all your goodies for Christmas! And, of course,  there is no better way to shop than on line so if you are after something gorgeous, quirky, colourful, fun and pretty special then look no further than

I have just received their Chrissie catalogue and it is just as fabulous inside as it looks on the outside....

I mean look at it - seriously tempting, wouldn't you say? 

Oh and another thing......they wrap! (and label so you forget what treasure you bought.....) 

See, I have have a stash already in my spare room. 

I have two bags like this.......which may or may not have decreased in size over the last month. 

(how could I resist treating myself to just a couple of things from here........)

As a general rule.....

......there really are no rules, especially when it comes to gallery walls. Well, if you want a more formal look then of course you need to get the tape measure out, but if you just want a fun eclectic mix of all your treasures then throw caution to the wind and 'hang away'!

As you can see, the shape, size, mount colour and frames are all different and this helps to create a wonderful mix. So gather all your mis  - matched pictures and frames and get to it - you won't be disappointed!

A friend of mine is setting off this week on a trip of a lifetime! She and her husband and are taking their three small children all the way up the east coast of Australia on a boat! They hope to be gone for a year but it could be two if all is plain sailing. The boat has had a bit of a revamp....some paint and new marine upholstery for the seating area. I am about to drop these into her this morning............

   

Should finish it off a treat, don't you think?

Do you think this would work?

I don't know about you but I seem to spend a good part of the week convincing my eldest to do his homework. It almost always ends in tears (his and mine!) and I am constantly looking for a solution to this weekly issue. So whilst I may not have come up with any firm answer to this ongoing dilemma, I was blown away to see this 'homework nook' on The Glow. 

We have our own homework nook and while it doesn't look anything like this, (well ok, it's the kitchen table....so it reeeeaaally doesn't look anything like this!) I thought it was ok. Arghhhh............now I am contemplating beautiful wall papers and comfy mis - matched cushions! Who woudn't want to do their homwork here? What do you think - would it work for me or would I find my son lying down, head on one of said cushions with his feet up.......

Either way what a glamorous way to complete the task!

A special delivery.

Bathroom style and a woolshed.

We (and I mean only the ones who read my blog, cos there are alot of peeps out there who prefer minimalism.........but that's another story) all love a bit of flair in the bathroom. So, having got that straight, lets just say that this bathroom wall is being popped right into my 'I Love' file. 

As you, the converted, would know - 'it's all in the details'!

And just in case you were wondering, I didn't win a thing yesterday but had the most wonderful day out. 

There's nothing quite like celebrating Melbourne Cup day in an Aussie woolshed all dressed up to the nines! 

(Oh yes - it was a fundraiser too so my money was lost to a good cause!)

Cup Day.

Yes, it comes around every year without fail! The races that stops a nation, The Melbourne Cup is on today so I am off to enjoy chicken and champers and to try my luck.
