I have been operating under a new set of rules lately and they seem to be working quite well. Well, it is only one rule really and and I can't tell you how it has simplified my life.
I have applied this rule to my house and also my wardrobe.

Easy to get dressed, everything mixes and matches.
Smae goes for the home, never come back from the store with the wrong color accessory again, and only buy what is necessary....
